Fig. 1A. Normal striated muscle. Intense staining reaction concentrated at the Z- bands. Fig. 1B. Normal colon mucosa. Smooth muscle cells in  muscularis mucosae and along the crypts stain intensively.
Fig. 1C. Normal artery and vein. In the artery (left), myofibroblasts in the adventitia are stained, whereas the smooth muscle cells in the media and intima are unstained. In the vein (right) the smooth muscle cells are stained. Fig. 1D. Mesothelial cells stained for desmin. A heterogeneous staining pattern is seen.
