Cytokeratin 5 in normal cells

Normal epidermis. All the squamous epithelial cells are stained. The basal cells are strongly reacting.

Normal bladdermucosa. The basal cells are strongly stained, the intermediate cells weakly stained, and the superficial cells almost unstained.

Normal prostate. The myoepithelial cells are stained, whereas the prostate glandular epithelium is unstained. Ductal breast carcinoma. The myoepithelial cells preserved in a carcinoma in situ lesion are strongly stained.
