Ber-EP4 in neoplasms

backback
Fig. 2A. Ductal breast carcinoma. In a normal duct (lower part), Ber-EP4 antigen is revealed in the secretory cells but not the myoepithelial cells. In the tumour cells (upper part), cytoplasmic staining with membrane enhancement is seen. Fig. 2B. Renal cell carcinoma infiltrating the ileum. The tumour (right) is negative for Ber-EP4, while the normal ileal crypts are strongly stained (left).
Fig. 2C. Peritoneal malignant mesothelioma. Ber-EP4 antigen is detected in most tumour cells. Widespread Ber-EP4 positivity is rare, but appears more often in peritoneal than in pleural mesotheliomas.
